What is Urban Healing?

Living in an urban environment comes with its own set of life stressors. There’s the noise, the lights, the people, the commute, the delays, the traffic, the expenses;

everything can add up and cause stress and tension in our bodies and minds as we try to deal with life in the big city. Staring at screens all day, typing on computers and phones, carrying our lives in our bags, not to mention the groceries we pick up after work – all of these things contribute to chronic pain, physical and mental exhaustion that doesn’t just go away when we come home.

In order to counter the difficulties of surviving in a bustling metropolis, The Urban Healer strives to release the collected and stored tension within a client’s body and address any physical pain and discomfort that prevents one from functioning optimally in everyday life. At the same time, attention must be paid to the nervous system and the role it plays in keeping our system turned “on”. Clients should feel safe and cared for throughout their session, even as deep physical healing is taking place. Past emotional trauma can be triggered by other people or situations that we encounter along the way and needs to be listened to and gently addressed when it comes up.

Many massage businesses and spas are equipped to only focus on the physical and provide an impersonal, ordinary massage. I believe that as The Urban Healer, my role is to attend to the multiple aspects of a client’s healing profile. My years of training and skill in many different forms of therapy allow me to tailor each appointment to take on my client’s unique concerns. Come discover what makes The Urban Healer approach so different.
